Neuropsychological Evaluations

At Wellesley Counseling & Wellness LLC, we believe high-quality neuropsychological testing should be accessible, collaborative, and grounded in real clinical care and not gatekept behind inaccessible private-pay systems. To better serve our community, we officially integrated Wellesley Neuropsychology & Assessment (WNPA) into our broader WCW practice model, allowing more individuals and families to access comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations through insurance-covered care.

Our neuropsychological testing services help provide clarity, direction, and individualized recommendations for children, adolescents, college students, and adults experiencing a wide range of cognitive, emotional, behavioral, academic, or diagnostic concerns.

We provide evaluations for:

  • ADHD / Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Trauma-related cognitive and emotional concerns

  • Learning differences and executive functioning challenges

  • Anxiety, depression, and mood-related presentations

  • Diagnostic uncertainty or complex clinical presentations

  • Memory, concentration, and cognitive concerns

  • School, workplace, and accommodation-related needs

  • Personality, emotional regulation, and behavioral concerns

  • Other presenting issues where diagnostic clarification is clinically indicated

Our goal is not simply to “label” symptoms, but to provide a thoughtful and individualized understanding of how a person thinks, learns, processes emotions, and navigates the world. Each evaluation includes comprehensive clinical interviewing, testing administration, interpretation, feedback, and actionable recommendations tailored to the individual’s needs.

Insurance-Covered Neuropsychological Testing

As part of our commitment to accessibility and advocacy within our community, we are proud to offer insurance-accepted neuropsychological evaluations through many major commercial insurance plans, including:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • UnitedHealthcare

  • Optum

  • Aetna

  • Harvard Pilgrim Health Care

Our administrative team assists with benefits verification, prior authorization requirements when applicable, and helping clients understand their coverage options.

Additional Academic Testing

We also offer expanded academic and educational testing services that are typically not considered medically necessary by insurance companies and therefore are not covered by insurance plans.

These additional academic testing services are available for a flat self-pay fee of $2,000 and may include more comprehensive educational, achievement, giftedness, or school-specific assessment components often requested for academic planning, accommodations, or independent educational purposes.

A Community-Focused Model

By integrating WNPA into WCW, we aimed to create a more sustainable and community-centered model for neuropsychological care — one that prioritizes accessibility, continuity of care, collaboration with therapists and prescribers, and reducing barriers to obtaining answers.
